Each holiday season, The Salvation Army engages in the tradition of "staffing the kettles" to promote the plight of the needy in Rockingham County. This practice is critical to The Salvation Army's cause, as the money it raises supports the organization’s programs for the rest of the year. Thanks to the generosity of thousands of Rockingham County residents and businesses, The Salvation Army can continue to provide valuable programs such as the Family Shelter and Single Women's Shelter.
